August 13th

The alarm went off at 7:00 am today and we all tiredly arose and prepared to leave for the rink. We had practice this morning at 9:00 and after a 30 minute drive to the rink we prepared ourselves for this time. Some stretch, some sit and wake up, but we are all ready to work at 9:00 am. We were thinking that we would have our first game on the 14th. A scrimmage of some sort so we were preparing for that, the ice went for an hour and thirty minutes or so and then we were done. No workout today because of the game tomorrow. After showering and taking care of various things at the rink, we made the journey home. At home we ate breakfast and rested debating what they day would entail. It was already 12:30 and we wanted to be in bed early for the game tomorrow. We decided to go with the other house of people to the harbor where there are public pools where you swim in the harbor water. After resting for a bit we made our way they around 2. Soaking in the cold water felt good on our legs and we were prepared for an early evening and game tomorrow. However, before leaving the pools we got a text that the game had to be postponed so we will be practicing at 3 tomorrow. Either way we had prepared our muscles for work, and it was just nice to know we were going to be at the rink. We drove past our house that we will be moving to as it was close to the pools and then home once more. Arriving home, we made dinner and then sat in our front yard to watch the sun set, read and enjoy each other’s company. It was a very nice evening and we stayed outside until around 10. Then it was time to shower and get ready for the bed as we would have to work hard at practice the next morning. I lay down in bed, call my parents and eventually fall asleep. They are taking my sister to college and will be empty nesters. I think that that will take some getting used to for them, but I am happy my sister is only 2 hours away so that they can visit often. Hopefully they will make the journey here to Sweden so I can show them this place, but for now my thoughts are there and hoping that they and my sister are having a good time.
